What is the best investing advice for beginners?
If you’re new to or are considering getting into investing, you’ll probably have a few. For example, what is the best advice for investment beginners? What are the risks of investing? Is there a chance you will lose everything you’ve invested? Can anyone get into investing?
That’s a lot to answer in a few paragraphs, but let’s see if we can provide some information on some of the basics in investing advice for beginners.
Investing is the act of committing money or capital to an endeavour with the expectation of obtaining additional income or profit.
That’s it in basic terms: use money that you have available and can afford to lose because, let’s face it, there are various levels of risk involved with investing, which means you can end up losing all of your money to invest in something that hopefully will return a profit. Easy eh?
The main asset classes of investments are equities (stocks), Fixed income (bonds), Currencies (forex), and commodities (e.g., gold, Silver, etc.). Real estate (or property if you’re in Europe) is also considered a class of its own, although it is often more correlated to fixed income than equities.
One key thing to remember is that investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal, i.e., the money you invested.Â
Investors should carefully consider their investment objectives and risk tolerance before investing in stocks.
It’s often said that investing in stocks is appropriate only for those investors who understand the risks associated with common stocks and have sufficient financial resources to bear such risks and withstand fluctuations in the value of their investments. A rule of thumb is that you should only invest money you can afford to lose.
If you want to grow your investments and get the power of compound on your side, this is the simplest, best way to start investing. Watch the full video, Index Fund Investing: How To Become A Millionaire here: https://youtu.be/aK1Q4rJf3u0
